That message in our society is in deep -- the brain expects immediate relief from drugs. Products that are successful seem to follow suit. Only I am not going there. The paradigm for me is Effective Non-Drug Choices.
Check out Resperate for a continuing trend in the United States among the medical community. I applaud it for they are finding choices in care -- in this case high blood pressure treated by breathing. One simply listens to sounds which key the patient how to breath. That re-programming brings about a drastic change in their health. The high blood pressure is then controlled from the person's own efforts. What a monumental discovery that breath control can be married to a device to train us.
If my last breath promotes this concept it is not enough. There are so many non-drug choices that are effective. Most of them come to us through non-medical means. Many of them are common sense techniques.
The other day, a good friend saw my finger as I complained about an infection. He took it and squeezed the ugly remains of a splinter out of it. I had tried to dig it out three times and failed. And out came an oozy, gooey mess until it come out red. He said, that's it, you'll be fine now because that is fresh blood. He cleaned it with alcohol and hydrogen peroxide. So I put on iodine and a fresh band aid. Check out The miracle of iodine to find out more. Even consumers guide gets into the act of saying what may be good for cleaning out a cut home remedies for cuts.
Did you know that your own body uses hydrogen peroxide to clean things up? No wonder it has become one of the most exciting advances in cancer treatment. Check out Paul Pitchford's book on Healing With Whole Foods. And why have we used iodine for so many years. Another good choice from the body's own mechanisms. However, do your homework for hydrogen peroxide can be dangerous. See Truth or Fiction on Hydrogen Peroxide.
Hmm, I'm smelling the crock pot of the day with potatoes, barley, lentils, beans, onions, zucchini, and red peppers. Now that is my kind of effect drugs wrapped up in a solution of chicken broth.

Halloween - Go Ahead and Pinch Yourself
I don't want to forget this Halloween for quite some time. It certainly was not the treats or tricks -- the mystic was so wonderful. I'm engaged to be married to Julie Pickens. Julie and I dressed up and went dancing. It was one of those whirling, twirling cascades in time that I think somebody like Bobby Dylan must have written about. We had a Halloween dinner made by Julie which had been a family treat for all of her children over the years. She had it all cooked up in a pumpkin. It was wonderful and incredibly inventive.
Of course, I was a martial artist dressed in black. She was a 50's girl dressed in a black poodle skirt with black nylons and need I say more? She was a whirl on the dance floor and I enjoyed every second of it.
I think sometimes you need to get out and have so much fun that you almost completely lose your breath over it. Then you can pinch yourself and know -- life can be this good! Thank you Julie for being who you are -- beautiful, bright, witty, and a ton of fun off and on the dance floor.
Despite the fires throughout California and especially in San Diego -- there was an out pouring of resolve, of responsive treatment for the situation. It really restores my faith in who we can be -- right now, today.

Invisible Barrior
Often inside the body we pass through invisible barriors. We become sick and do not know why. Still the trace of it is clear. Our runny nose, the headache, the fever, maybe there is a chill. The amazing journey is interrupted with a feeling of being out of place.
Coming back for that we shore up, get rest, adjust our lifestyle, and begin our recovery. Suddenly, we are back across that invisible barrior and all seems okay.
Thanks to my brother who also blogs. Check it out:

I think our thought life passes through similar barriors. We have definately achieved liftoff and begun to communicate clearly through time. Maybe that is the invisible barrior of our society as we struggle to find a voice in this sea of competing voices.
Somehow the rush of modern society has slowed again to the pace where we can shore up, get rest, adjust our lifestyle, and begin our recovery.

Class Dismissed
It is always hard when I don't have enough students for class. I was thinking why me, when I realized that it opens the door to do my classes better. Now I have more time to prepare them as a unit. I've been wanting to do it anyway.
For an hour I talked about the course and how it was an exciting course and please get more people to enroll into it next semester. I love to teach, it is a dream come true. Often I have heard people say that when you need to grow a teacher appears. It sounds much better than those who can not do, teach. Actually, I find teaching builds your skills because you have to know it better to explain it.
And who is the gardener here anyway?

From Messy to Tolerable to Okay to Wow
I can't believe how learning many new things in a short amount of time can eat up a room, a bookcase, and the whole apartment. Even if it is a studio, it is disgusting. At least I have picked up the food and kept the dishes clean. Today, I'm trying to dig out of it. The good thing is that I have better access to guitars and drums. After all, one has to party sometime.
I think that is why my to do list is longer than it should be. The cloud that hangs over a messy room doesn't cry out for efficiency. What did my favorite drummer always say -- drumming is accuracy, accuracy, and accuracy. Hmm, he was on drugs most of the time but he was a good drummer.
I wander as I wonder that I wander so long.

Planning Pacific Symposium
It only happens once yearly and I've been there for three years in some form or another. Usually as a volunteer. Last year, I was there as a vendor introducing LifeWave patches to the group. My son John had this huge sign and we had fun. Still, I expect to make more friends this time. We'll have special water, patches and things from both biopro and LifeWave products. John hopes to join me. I spent an hour selecting the classes I'll attend and the tapes I'll buy for the classes I'll miss. This time I'll be there to learn as much as I will be there to talk up technology.
Lifewave is a site which explains the patches if you have some interest in knowing what they do.

EFT - Simple, Effective
Tried EFT today. Nobody has heard of it much. It works like acupuncture but you do this crazy tapping on the body, humming, counting, and rolling the eyes all around. Crazy it sounds, said I, looking all around for the demons chasing through the meadows. Crazy it be, said I, but it sure does seem to work. Amazing. Go figure.
You tap the Urinary Bladder, Gallbladder, Stomach, Du, Ren, Kidney, Spleen, Liver, Lung, Large Intestine, Pericardium, and Small Intestine end points on their channels on one side. Then you hit Small Intestine 3 (an incredibly healing point) followed by Triple Burner 3 (increasing communication throughout the body) with eyes closed, open, rolling, humming, counting, and humming. Then you repeat again the tapping sequence -- all with an affirmation.
I must tell you all -- I feel affirmed and voila, here is a new blog to prove it.
